Hunters and country artists who participate in the annual fund-raising concert and turkey hunt chose a charity for their donation, and a group of Georgians again picked SEEDS, the GONetwork's youth program.

Founded by hunting personality Sam Klement and country music star Rhett Akins in 2001 for the purpose of raising awareness and dollars through the outdoors and country music, Country Goes Huntin’ has continued to grow.

This year’s concert was held at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds in Dothan, Ala. and featured performances by more than a dozen top country artists. Before and after the concert, country artists hunted turkeys with hunting-industry professionals. The proceeds of the concert and a silent auction were divided up with a portion going to each participant, who then chose a charity for a donation.

SEEDS, the youth program of GONetwork, was chosen again by a group of Georgians who participate in Country Goes Huntin’. This year’s donation of $10,000 will be allocated by GONetwork Sportsman Senators for hunting and fishing trips and other activities that promote the outdoors to Georgia’s youth.
