Our names are Shelby Cannon (16) and Lane Cannon (12), and we are sister and brother. This 2023-2024 season has been our first-year shooting for the Terrell Academy Shotgun Team out of Dawson, and it has been the best sport we have ever done.

When we joined the Terrell Academy Shotgun Team, we were both very new to shooting a shotgun because previously we had only hunted. At our very first Terrell Academy Shotgun Team practice, Mr. Greg Montague took us under his wing and has spent countless hours coaching and mentoring both of us. Over the season, Mr. Greg has taught us so much about the sport, the ethics of it and how much fun it is. The amount of time and energy Mr. Greg has put into teaching and mentoring both of us shows us and everyone else his love for teaching and his love for the sport itself. Mr. Greg has been a role model, inspiration and a great friend to both of us, and we are so grateful for everything that he has done for us because we wouldn’t be nearly as good without him.

So, thank you, Mr. Greg! You are such a blessing, and we love you!
