Lake Russell Fishing Reports – May 2023

GON Staff | April 26, 2023

Russell: Level: Full at 475. Temp: Mid 60s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass fishing is still good, and the blueback and shad spawns are beginning to be the major patterns. We have been catching a lot of fish up on the points and shoals using a variety of baits. Each day is different depending on the weather, so I start out with a Zoom Super Fluke and a topwater, but at times a spinnerbait or a worm is good. As we head into May, this pattern should continue and later in the month the bass will begin to migrate to some deeper water as the baitfish start moving out.”
