Lake Russell Fishing Report September 2015

GON Staff | August 26, 2015

Russell: Level: Full pool. Temp: 82 degrees. Clarity: Mostly clear except for the back half of the creeks.

Bass:
Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The fishing has been a little slow, but with the recent rains, it should pick up some. The threadfin shad seem to be the key to finding the bass. We have been catching the majority of the bass in 15 to 20 feet of water on a drop shot or Carolina-rigged Zoom Trick Worm and Finesse worm. We are moving around until we find the baitfish, and they will continue to be on the move as we head into September. There should also be some schooling activity in the mouths of the creeks, and you can catch them on a Super Fluke or on small topwater baits.”
