Lake Russell Fishing Report October 2015

GON Staff | September 30, 2015

Russell: Level: 1 foot low. Temp: 75 degrees. Clarity: Clear to stained.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass fishing is starting to pick back up with fall in the air and cooler water temperatures getting the baitfish and bass more active. Most of the fish are being caught 20 to 25 feet deep around wood and rocks on drop-shot and Carolina-rigged finesse worms or lizards. As the water temperatures continue to fall, I expect the crankbait and topwater bite to improve, so keep an eye out for baitfish activity, especially in the creeks.”
