Lake Russell Fishing Report October 2012

GON Staff | September 26, 2012

Russell: Level: 8.7 feet below full pool. Temp: 75-78 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Kerry Partain reports, “The fishing is poor to good depending on the weather conditions and generation schedule at Russell Dam. There are still some good spots in brush and timber, and you can catch them on crankbaits and drop shots. The bigger spots seem to be moving in the creeks and biting crankbaits. It has been tough the last week, and the schooling activity has been sporadic. Fishing should really pick up the next week or two, and fish should be schooling in the mouths of major creeks especially over the standing timber. If you see fish schooling, throw small topwater or a Zoom Super Fluke, and change your lure speed and size to match the baitfish.”
