Lake Russell Fishing Report – October 2010

GON Staff | September 29, 2010

Russell: Level: 3.2 feet below full pool. Temp: Low to mid 80s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Good. Trad Whaley said you can catch all the small schooling spots you want in the mouths of the creeks over timber with a Rat-L-Trap, and a few largemouths are being caught up on the banks in the creeks on Pop-Rs and buzzbaits. Also, medium-diving crankbaits will still catch some good fish over the top of deeper timber. Things are starting to change, though. The bait is moving into the creeks, and it will soon be time to start throwing a Trap around secondary points and flats and walking a topwater bait in the same areas.
