Lake Russell Fishing Report – November 2022

GON Staff | October 27, 2022

Russell: Level: 0.8 below 475. Temp: 65 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass are feeding heavy on shad right now and the fishing should get better each week as the water begins to cool off and the lake turnover stabilizes. Most of the bait and bass seem to be in the pockets and creeks, but some areas of the lake are better than others. The fish we are catching right now are around small pods of bait, so keep a close eye on your electronics. Once I mark bait or fish on my Lowrance,  I will use a spinnerbait, jerkbait or crankbait and see which one the fish want because it changes throughout the day. You can also catch some bigger bass this time of year on a jig or a Fish Head Spin with a Zoom Fluke. As the water cools down in November, I will concentrate more on the jigging spoon in the creeks or ditches on the main lake.”
