Lake Russell Fishing Report November 2015

GON Staff | October 29, 2015

Russell: Level: Full pool. Temp: Upper 60s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “This is one of the best times to be on the water for catching big bass as they fatten up for the winter. You can catch the bigger largemouth on a spinnerbait, crankbait or a jig around shallow wood and rocks. For numbers, you can catch a lot of spotted bass on a drop shot and a Carolina-rigged finesse worm around shallow brush and rocks anywhere from 10 to 25 feet of water. Keep your eye out for schooling activity as the baitfish begin to stack up, especially in the creek mouths. As we go into November, the bass will begin to bunch up with the bait schools, and you can catch them on jigging spoons or Blade Runners in the ditches and major coves.”
