Lake Russell Fishing Report – November 2007

GON Staff | October 24, 2007

Russell: Level: Full pool. Temp: 72-74 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Good. Look for baitfish activity or bass busting the surface in the creeks. You should get some topwater early action on a buzzbait or a Pop-R. Concentrate on the secondary pockets from mid-way to the backs of the creeks. Also try running a small crankbait across secondary points and down the middle of the pockets.

Crappie: Good. Fish brushpiles that are in 8 to 12 feet of water, or look for crappie suspending in the timber about 6 feet down on the trees. Use minnows.

Perch: Excellent for yellow perch. Find baitfish schools in 30 to 40 feet of water, especially in bends in the creek channels.
