Lake Russell Fishing Report May 2012

GON Staff | April 26, 2012

Russell: Level: 0.8 feet below full pool. Temp: High 60s to low 70s. Clarity: Super clear.

Bass: Poor. Tournament angler Kerry Partain said Russell has been really tough. He thinks they must be in a postspawn funk. You can still catch a limit of small fish dragging a Carolina rig with a 5-inch Zoom lizard in green pumpkin on main-lake points. Kerry hopes this main-lake pattern will really set up over the next few weeks. Then he’ll be fishing for spots with a drop shot or shaky head to deep brush or rock on the points. He likes a Zoom 4-inch Ringer worm on his drop shot and a green-pumpkin Swamp Crawler on his shaky head.
