Lake Russell Fishing Report – July 2023

GON Staff | June 29, 2023

Russell: Level: Full at 475. Temp: 78 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The fishing has been good the last couple of weeks, and a few big fish have been showing up to the scales. The bass are still scattered from shallow to deep, so they are still hard to pattern, and it changes daily with the weather. We have been catching them on a shaky head and crankbaits early, then later in the evening on a Texas-rigged Zoom Mag II and an Ol’ Monster worm. As July rolls around, the bass will move out deeper to the ledges and timber, so a drop shot will become more effective.”
