Lake Russell Fishing Report – July 2019

GON Staff | June 25, 2019

Russell: Level: Full pool. Temp: Low 80s. Clarity: Clear with some stain the creeks.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass fishing has been tougher the past few weeks with all the rain but should improve as the water stabilizes. We have still been catching fish 15 to 25 feet deep on drop shots rigged with the Zoom Z Drop and finesse worms. As we move into July, the evening and night bite should get better as the bass set up on summer patterns around ledges and structure with deep water nearby. Once the summer bite gets good, I like throwing Zoom Ol’ Monster and Mag II worms on Texas and Carolina rigs.”
