Lake Russell Fishing Report – January 2024

GON Staff | December 28, 2023

Russell: Level: 0.8 below 475. Temp: 52-56 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “Most of the fish we have been catching are 20 to 35 feet deep around rocks and timber. The baitfish are starting to bunch up pretty good with the cooler water temps, and the spotted bass are biting. We are catching most of the bass on drop shots, spoons and jigs on points and ditches on the main lake and at the mouths of the creeks. In areas where they are actively feeding on shad, we have been catching some of the better bass and stripers on A-rigs with the Zoom Swimming Fluke Jr.”
