Lake Russell Fishing Report February 2015

GON Staff | January 29, 2015

Russell: Level: Full pool. Temp: 45-49 degrees. Clarity: Clear with some stained water up the major creeks.

Bass: Good. Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “Bass are bunched up around bait in 35 to 45 feet of water. The drop shot is still producing numbers of fish, but the bigger bass are coming off the spoon or a jig around rocks and wood. With the recent changes in weather, the bait and bass have been moving more than usual, but once you locate them on your electronics, they seem to be biting good. February is an excellent month to catch some big bass, especially on the tail end of a warming trend.”
