Lake Russell Fishing Report December 2018

GON Staff | November 28, 2018

Russell: Level: Full. Temp: 60 degrees. Clarity: Mostly clear with some stain in the creeks and rivers.

Bass: Guide Jerry Kotal reports, “The fish are biting really well. We are catching them on a drop shot using a finesse worm around brushpiles 20 to 25 feet deep. We are also catching them on a 1/2-oz. jig. They are also biting in the backs of the creeks on a squarebill crankbait. They’re around rocky banks using a chartreuse crankbait with a black back. The fish will move out deeper in December. They will be in the 30- to 40-foot range in brush and on drop-offs. The same techniques and baits can be used during this time, as well.”
