Lake Russell Fishing Report December 2011

GON Staff | November 23, 2011

Russell: Level: 9.6 feet below full. Temp: 62-65 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Good. Kerry Partain reports, “The fishing has been getting better this week. The bass are still feeding heavy on shad in the creeks and ditches. During the warmer days, they can be caught on a small, shad-colored crankbait on points in 8 to 10 feet of water. When the cold fronts roll in, they are biting the Carolina-rigged Zoom 5-inch lizard around brush and standing timber. As the water begins to cool during this month, the drop shot rigged with a Zoom G-Tail Ringer or Meathead worm will work well as the fish begin to set up on main-lake points and at the mouth of the creeks.”
