Lake Russell Fishing Report – April 2019

GON Staff | March 25, 2019

Russell: Level: 0.7 feet low. Temp: 55-60 degrees. Clarity: Mostly clear with stain in the creeks.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass fishing has been good with several patterns working. It has been taking 20 pounds to win almost every week. If you like to fish deep, you can catch them on jigs, shaky heads and Carolina-rigged lizards in 15 to 20 feet of water on main lake and secondary points leading into pockets. If you like to fish shallow, you can catch them that way on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. The first wave of the spawn should be happening right now, too, so it is a great time to be on the lake.”
