Outdoor Blast Set For July 27-29

The Georgia State Duck Calling Contest returns to the Outdoor Blast this year. Top competition duck callers will compete for a ticket to the famous World’s Championship in Stuttgart, Arkansas.

The duck-calling competition will be held Friday, July 27, and calling will begin soon after the show opens at 1 p.m. For information on the calling competition, send a message through the Georgia State Duck Calling Contest Facebook page, or call Jamey Thomas at (706) 614-6620.

The Outdoor Blast has lots for all sportsmen. GON’s annual kick-off to hunting season will be July 27-29 in Gwinnett County at the Infinite Energy Center. The Outdoor Blast will again feature hundreds of hunting and fishing vendors offering products and services, and expect to find some great deals as we bring back Blast Bargains for 2018.

Only at the Outdoor Blast do you have the chance every hour to win a free gun— no raffle tickets to buy, it’s a free drawing as a thank you for coming.

Highlights of this year’s Outdoor Blast include a return of the Gun-An-Hour-Giveaway. Every hour a name will be drawn from Blast attendees, and the winner will pick up their new gun right there and take it home. This is not a raffle, it’s free. There will be a chance to win 21 guns during the weekend—GON’s 21-gun salute to sportsmen.

Also, the Wall of Fame, a display of the state’s best bucks from last season, will be at the Outdoor Blast.

The Wall of Fame features the best bucks from last deer season, and there will be some monsters on display.

Returning to the Blast this year will be Steve Scruggs with his awesome “Snakes Alive” show. Also returning are the birds of prey with Buster Brown and his Georgia Mountain Falconry experience. The Truck-Buck Shoot-Out is Saturday and Sunday, and Friday will see the GON’s Youth Big-Buck Contest as kids shoot for a $3,000 shopping spree and dream hunt.

There are less than 2-dozen vendor booths available for the 2018 Outdoor Blast. We only allow hunting and fishing, outdoor-related vendors. To find more infomation about the Blast, visit here.
