FCA Outdoors Hosts Shooting Sports Camp

Twenty-two youth received shooting instructions on archery, shotguns and rifles.

There is nothing more rewarding in this world than leading kids to Jesus! Period!

FCA Outdoors falls under the Fellowship of Christian Athletes umbrella but focuses on more outdoors-type activities—hunting, fishing, rodeo, kayaking, canoeing, etc. The ministry hosted a shooting sports camp at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center June 15-18, where 22 youth received shooting instructions on archery, shotguns and rifles. They also were taught instinctive shooting by James Rutland with Rutland’s Instinctive Shooting.

In addition to time on the range, a nightly worship hour was held each evening. As a GON editor, I was thrilled to receive an invitation to come and share on the first evening. The kids had a real hunger not only for the outdoors but even more so for following Christ!

On Tuesday evening, Paul Dennis, field director with FCA Outdoors spoke, and on the final evening, Kevin “Chappy” Hines, the UGA chaplain, shared with the kids.

I’m so glad to report that during the week, five kids surrendered their life to Jesus, and one surrendered to a call to ministry—all because of the obedient efforts of FCA Outdoors!
