Get Your Buck Scored At The Outdoor Blast

See A Hunter Win a John Megel Chevrolet Truck!

GON Staff | June 12, 2018

Georgia Outdoor News is giving away a brand-new truck to one lucky hunter at the Outdoor Blast. The hunter will be shooting in the Truck-Buck Shoot-Out on Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, the GON Youth Big-Buck Contest will be held as kids shoot for a $3,000 Adventure Outdoors shopping spree and Woods-N-Water weekend trip. To keep up with everything, visit the Outdoor Blast Facebook Page or gon.com/outdoor-blast.

Outdoor Blast

Where: Infinite Energy Center,
I-85, Exit 107

When: July 27-29
Friday 1 – 8 p.m.
Sat. 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sun. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

While the Truck-Buck Shoot-Out and GON’s Youth Big-Buck Contest are being held, there are a lot more activities going on at the show. GON’s annual kick-off to hunting season will be July 27-29 in Gwinnett County at the Infinite Energy Center. The Outdoor Blast will again feature hundreds of hunting and fishing vendors offering products and services, and expect to find some great deals as we bring back Blast Bargains for 2018.

The Wall of Fame is a must see when attending the show. Last season’s best bucks will be on display.

While making your way to check out the Wall of Fame, stop by the GON booth. Pick up some GON decals for your truck and renew your subscription before deer season starts. You don’t want to kill that buck of a lifetime and then realize you forgot to renew your GON subscription.

Kid’s get in the Blast for free, so load the truck up and bring them on to the show. A fun kid’s area will be located up the stairwell that is located near the glass wall in between each hall. Kids can have their face painted, check out fur skins of different animals and play on fun inflatables.

There are less than 2-dozen vendor booths still available for the 2018 Outdoor Blast. We only allow hunting and fishing, outdoor-related vendors.

To inquire about whether your company or service might be a fit for the Blast, call Mindy Burns at (800) 438-4663, or e-mail [email protected].

Deer scoring is only on Friday and Saturday. See more information to the right.

Buck Scoring At Outdoor Blast

Here’s an easy chance to get an official measurement for your Georgia buck that qualifies it for County-by-County and other official records. Bring the rack or mount Friday or Saturday to the Outdoor Blast. We’ll have official Boone & Crockett scorers on hand who will be scoring for GON’s Triple Digit WMA Bucks and County-by-County lists.

If you’re having your buck scored for GON’s Triple-Digit WMA Bucks list, bucks must net 100 inches to make the records. County-by-County gun-kills must net 120 inches; bow-kills must net 100 inches.

Drop-off and pick-up information is below.

Friday, July 27: Drop-off time is 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday July 28: Drop-off is from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

We will not be measuring deer on Sunday.

Racks may be picked up as soon as they are measured and scores tallied.
