Gator Trout In The Deep December Holes

Georgia is truly blessed to have one of the very best trout fisheries on the east coast. From the creeks of Savannah to the marsh down in St. Mary’s, trout are plentiful and plain fun to catch. From April to mid-December, limits can be had by slinging jigs to creek mouths or soaking shrimp under…

November Is Redfish Month In Georgia

Fall Is Flounder Time On The Georgia Coast

As you read this October 2018 issue of GON, it’s safe to say that the sweltering days of summer are nearly behind us. As the leaves begin to change and temperatures drop, it signals the beginning of fall in our great state. For south Georgia though, the cold weather will be sporadic at best as…

Alapaha River:  Jonathon Pritchard fished the middle river this week and had a good trip. He fooled a bunch of redbreast and bass on Satilla Spins (the black hues worked best for him). Satilla River: Jamie Storey and Ward Highsmith fished the middle river this week, and they said the water was ripping. They found some slack areas and were able to catch a good number of bluegill, warmouth, pickerel and a few bass up to 3 pounds. They caught a total of about 25 fish and fooled them with bumblebee and bruiser Satilla Spins. Seth Carter and a friend…
