Lake Sinclair Fishing Report May 2011

GON Staff | April 27, 2011

Sinclair: Level: 1.4 feet low. Temp: 69-73 degrees. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass:
Right now fishing is great for numbers of bass, but it’s only fair for quality fish. You’ll find lots of buck bass guarding fry all over the lake. Throw topwater baits like Spooks and Pop-Rs early in the morning on main-lake points. However, some bass will be shallow all day as they guard fry. Be on the lookout for bream beds and mayfly hatches, too. This will keep some fish shallow. As it heats up toward the end of the month, fish will seek more shade. Flip the deeper, main-lake docks with a jig or Ol Monster worm.
