Lake Eufaula Fishing Report April 2014

GON Staff | March 28, 2014

Eufaula: Level: 2.2 feet above full pool. Temp: Upper 50s to low 60s. Clarity: Stained.

Bass:
Good. Concentrate your efforts from the spawning pockets to out on ditches on the flats leading to the pockets. Rattle baits are good search baits to find the sweet spots on the ledges. In the pockets try spinnerbaits and jigs, both swimming jigs and working a jig slow across the spawning flats. Guide Sam Williams reports, “Bass are biting better. They are still transitional, and patterns change from trip to trip. Bass are being taken in trashpiles in 6 to 12 feet of water using jigs, Carolina rigs with lizards or frogs and with Texas-rigged worms. We are still experiencing variations in weather patterns. High winds and rain are keeping the water stirred up and muddy at times. The water is down just a little from last report. This is exposing the bank cover that will make some great cover for bass that have moved shallow.”
