This Pike County wood duck fell for Hope Walden, 15, of Zebulon. Her chocolate Labrador retriever Shelby sits in for the photo.

Dylan Wilder, 8, of Dawsonville, caught this 2-lb. slab crappie while fishing with his uncle in a Cherokee County pond. A minnow caught the bedded fish.

Eleven-year-old Zac Watford, of Suwanee, rolled this Meriwether County bird at 7:00 opening morning.

This Gordon County doe was taken by 13-year-old Christian Lynch, of Cartersville. It was Christianʼs first deer, and he killed it on November 13.
