Mason Hatcher, 14, of Milledgeville, was hunting in Hancock County during the youth opener when he rolled this longbeard. It had a 10-inch beard, 1-inch spurs and weighed 20-lbs., 3-ozs. He was hunting with his dad, Michael, when the bird showed up at 5 p.m.

Addy King caught her first bass on Lake Hartwell while fishing with her dad.

Caroline Athon, 12, with a West Point bass that weighed 8 1/2 pounds.

Phillip Smith, 11, of Lawrenceville, got his first turkey on opening morning of youth season in Oconee County. It had a 12-inch beard and 1-inch spurs.

Beckett Burton, 7, of Dahlonega, with a Crisp County gobbler taken on March 22.

Cole Arnold, 15, of Cochran, killed this turkey while hunting in Twiggs County with his dad and papa.

Weston Adams, 12, of Sandersville, killed this turkey in Washington County on March 23.

Raylan Switzer, 9, went straight from the baseball field to the turkey woods on March 22 to get his first gobbler.

Lylah Mae Godwin, 10, killed a Brooks County gobbler on March 22. It was her very first turkey hunt.

Harris Young, of Atlanta, with his first turkey taken in Coweta County on March 23.

Hiram Peterson, 8, of Broxton, caught this 10-lb., 11-oz. bass on April 11, and the next day he tagged a longbeard. What a spring break!

Sterling Dusterdieck, 9, from Pierce County, with a hog taken on April 5. He reports that 17 total hogs came out during the hunt.

Levi Deal, 12, of Statesboro, stacked up three bobcats, four grey foxes, five red foxes, two coons and four possums in three weeks of trapping in Bulloch County.

Avery Terrell, 10, killed his first turkey in Pike County on March 29 while hunting with his dad, Chris, and long-time friend Brice Crawford.

Barrett Downs, 6, of Harlem, killed his first turkey ever in Burke County. He took it right off the roost with his .410 at 11 steps.

Briggs Thompson, 9, of LaFayette, killed his second tom ever on March 22 on the family farm in Walker County.

Camden Smith, 14, of McIntyre, with a Twiggs County gobbler taken during the youth weekend.

Elliott Smith, 13, of Mansfield, took this tom on opening weekend of the 2025 youth turkey season.

Hunt Murphy, 10, of Thomasville, shot his first turkey on the family farm in Thomas County.

Ross Hulbert, 12, of Thomson, with a Putnam County turkey from March 29. The bird had an 11-inch beard and 1-inch spurs.

Tack Shirley, 7, of Rockmart, with a Polk County bird taken with his .410 shotgun while hunting with his dad.

John Ross O’Berry, 8, with a Ware County gobbler that had three beards.

Wyatt Blackston’s first gobbler was one to remember. The Cook County bird had four beards measuring 35 total inches. The bird was dead three minutes after fly-down time on opening morning of the youth season.
