Brad Gill | June 29, 2011

Woodlawn Elementary School in Chatsworth took first place in the 2011 NASP National Tournament. They had the highest score from any Georgia team at a national tournament.

The archery team at Woodlawn Elementary School in Chatsworth was top dog at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) National Tournament in Louisville, Ky. in May. Woodlawn finished with a team score of 3,244, the highest ever by a Georgia school competing at NASP nationals. Woodlawn also won the NASP World Championship in November 2010 and has won two consecutive state championships.

“I am so proud of all of these students for their efforts,” said Jennifer Pittman, WRD’s shooting sports coordinator. “They have put in a lot of hours, work, sweat and tears to participate all year and then place well enough at the state competition which allowed them to go to nationals. I commend their coaches and parents for allowing them to participate and look forward to where we go from here.”
