Lake Russell Fishing Report – May 2025

GON Staff | April 30, 2025

Russell: Level: Full pool at 475. Temp: 72-75 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass fishing has been good the last month for both spotted bass and largemouth. The blueback spawn has been sporadic, but the days when you can find them have been good using topwater and a Zoom Super Fluke around shoals and shallow points. There is also a threadfin spawn in the creeks, and jerkbaits and spinnerbaits have been working well.  As we head into May, the topwater bite should continue to get better, and the bass will also begin to start showing up in brushpiles and timber.”
