Cody Gay Spends $3,000 At Adventure Outdoors After Winning GON Youth Shoot-Out
There is still time to become eligible to win next year’s $3,000 shopping spree at Adventure Outdoors.
Cody Gay, 16, of Nicholls, recently made his trip to Adventure Outdoors after winning GON’s 2023 Youth Big-Buck Contest Shoot-Out at GON’s Outdoor Blast at the end of July. Cody’s highlight from his grand-prize $3,000 shopping spree was a Browning .270 deer rifle topped with a Leupold scope.
In addition to his new deer rifle, Cody got a gun case, a set of waders, some bullets and two cellular trail cams.
Cody was the only one of 17 shooters who hit the Round 6 target, a mini Nilla wafer, at 25 feet. The young hunters had qualified for the event through the Youth Big Buck Contest during the 2022-2023 Georgia deer season. The Shoot-Out competition, which gets progressively harder by distance and target size, hasn’t gotten to the most difficult target—a Rolaids tablet—since Holden Hines won the competition in 2021.
2023-24 GON Youth Big-Buck
There is still time to compete in the 2023-24 GON Youth Big-Buck Contest. One youth 15 years of age or younger will be back at Adventure Outdoors next year to spend $3,000 as they get outfitted for a dream hunt at Woods-N-Water, an additional grand prize to the winner. New this year, the second-place shooter will receive a CVA Scout break-action .243 centerfire rifle from BPI Outdoors. Plus, each weekly winner this season gets a Rugged Road Outdoors 65 V2 ultra-light cooler (retails for $349.99) along with a LockedOn 360 gun vise.
