Clean Sweep For Scarborough In 2019 Georgia State Duck Calling Events

Chad Scarborough went home with three titles during Georgia's 2019 state level events.

For the third year in a row, Chad Scarborough, of Odum, is the Georgia State Duck Calling Champion. Chad edged out former state champ Jacob Fortner, of Lawrenceville, and Drew Archer, of Monroe, to take the title and earn another trip to Stuttgart, Ark. for the World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest.

Chad also earned the Georgia State Meat title, an event that has been won in the past by several former World’s Championship callers. Second place in the Meat went to Gary Orr, of Hixson, Tenn.

The third title of the day for Chad came in the Georgia State Two-Man Meat contest. Chad teamed up with Stump to win the entertaining two-man event.

Keegan Towne, of Albermarle, N.C., won the 2019 Georgia State Youth Main Street Duck Calling Contest with a two-round total score of 477. Blowing an RMC, Keegan had the high score in Round 1 and tied for the high score in Round 2. Second place in the youth Main Street contest was Camden Goss, of Gainesville. Camden had a total score of 468. Third place went to Drake Owens, of Conway, S.C., with a score of 465.

The youth callers also had a Meat event, and Keegan Towne also earned that title. Second place in the Youth Meat event went to Aiden Purdue, of Denton, N.C., and placing third was Will Upchurch, of Carrollton.

The duck-calling championships were again held at the Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast in Duluth during the last weekend in July.
