Make Plans To Attend The 2024 Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast July 26-28

GON Staff | May 2, 2024

The GON Wall of Fame and Duncan Dobie’s Georgia’s Greatest Whitetails exhibits bring some of the biggest bucks of the 2023 deer season and some of Georgia’s most famous record bucks from the past.

It’s save the date time! The 2024 Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast will take place July 26-28 at the LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson just north of Atlanta. Plans are for this year’s GON event to be the biggest and best in the 19 years since we held the very first Outdoor Blast so we could host the Truck-Buck Shoot-Out wrapped around a long weekend of fellowship for sportsmen.

The 2024 event is presented by the Dallas Safari Club Convention and sponsored by Georgia Drives Chevy.

New this year is a BBQ Village featuring some of Georgia’s premier pitmasters. More on that in the coming days. Below are just some of the highlights you’ll discover at the 2024 show.

Gun-An-Hour Giveaway: Few things in life are better than winning a free gun! That’s why we have the Gun-An-Hour Giveaway. Every hour on the hour throughout the weekend, we draw an attendee’s name at random. It’s simple—hear your name, claim your gun. The Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast is open for 21 hours, and we are giving away 21 guns. All you need to do is go to the Gun-An-Hour booth, fill out an entry form, show your paid entry bracelet and drop your entry into the hopper. You stay eligible all day with that one entry. We start fresh each day. Of course, you’ll need to be of legal age and will have to go through the standard federal background check.

GON Truck-Buck Shoot-Out Finals: The Truck-Buck Shoot-Out Finals take place on Sunday, July 28, in the John Megel Shoot-Out Arena. Twenty-one GON subscribers will take the stage in a pellet rifle shooting competition where one lucky hunter will win a new Silverado from John Megel Chevrolet. This nerve-racking competition is considered the kick-off of the coming deer season and a must-see event for all ages.

30-30 Ministries $1K Shoot-Out:The very popular 30-30 Ministries $1K Shoot-Out is back, with qualifying beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27. Anyone can step into the John Megel Shoot-Out Arena and qualify for the chance to win $1,000. Qualifying is $5 for one shot or $10 for three shots at an egg from the 45-foot stage. Qualifiers will shoot at the egg from 60 feet until we have a $1,000 winner.

GON Wall Of Fame & Georgia’s Greatest Whitetails: The GON Wall of Fame and Duncan Dobie’s Georgia’s Greatest Whitetails exhibits bring some of the biggest bucks of the 2023 deer season and some of Georgia’s most famous record bucks from the past. This is the place where hunters of all ages stare in awe while their imaginations take them to what they hope to see in the coming deer season.

Official Deer Scoring: Bring your mount or antlers, and our team of official Boone & Crockett scorers will tally up the inches, and your buck’s final score will automatically be listed in GON’s Georgia Deer Records. Scoring takes places at the Deer Wall against the back of the building. Drop your rack off anytime during show hours Friday or Saturday and until 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 28. But don’t wait until the show is about to close on Friday and Saturday. Antlers dropped off near the closing hours of the show might not be available for pick up until the next day.

Yonah Invitational Turkey Calling Competition: The Yonah Invitational is an NWTF Grand National Qualifying Event, which means it’s sanctioned by the National Wild Turkey Federation. Qualifying events give callers the opportunity to earn a golden ticket to the Grand National Calling Championships. Hosted in Nashville at the annual NWTF Convention and Sport Show, this turkey-calling contest is known widely as the Super Bowl of all turkey-calling competitions.

For information on the turkey calling contest, contact Donald Jarrett at 706.473.8027.

Fishing Demonstrations In A 4,000 Gallon Bass Tub: Also back this year is the Bass Tub where seasoned anglers provide hourly fishing seminars and demonstrations at a giant tank full of fish. These fishing seminars are a great way to pick up some tips and learn some new tactics for your next day on the water. Learn from some of the best guides and anglers in the state with demonstrations in the 4,000-gallon freshwater tank all weekend long.

You will see all of this and much more at the Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast July 26-28. Shop the best gear, learn from the pros, gather with friends and get excited for the coming season in Emerson. Come see why the Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast has become the largest sportsman’s show in Georgia.
