GON’s Outdoor Blast Returns To Gwinnett July 29-31

GON is heading back to the Infinite Energy Center, formerly known as the Gwinnett Center, to host the Outdoor Blast, our annual kick-off to hunting season. This year’s Outdoor Blast will be July 29-31. The Infinite Energy Center is a clean, well air-conditioned facility right off I-85 in a very nice area of Duluth.

The Outdoor Blast will again feature hundreds of hunting and fishing vendors offering products for deer season. GON does not allow vendors unless they have outdoor-related products, so you won’t see the flea-market, foot-massage and vacation-marketing booths that dominate other events.

Highlights of this year’s Outdoor Blast include a return of the Gun-An-Hour-Giveaway. Every hour on the hour, a name will be drawn, and the winner will pick up their new gun right there and take it home. There will be 21 guns to be given away during the weekend. Also, the Wall of Fame, a display of the state’s best bucks from last season, will be at the Outdoor Blast.

Returning this year will be Steve Scruggs with his famous “Snakes Alive” show. He had some very impressive venomous snakes last year, and he’s bringing them back.

New to the Blast this year will be Sasquatch Mountain Man from the Outdoor Channel.

The Truck-Buck Shoot-Out will take place Saturday and Sunday, but come Friday and witness GON’s Youth Big-Buck Contest as kids shoot for a $3,000 shopping spree at Adventure Outdoors and a Woods-N-Water dream hunt.
