36th Season Of Truck-Buck, $75,000+ In Prizes! Subscribe To GON
$75K in prizes, a winner every week—and the Youth Big-Buck Contest is back.
GON Staff | August 2, 2024
It happened again last season… a longtime GON subscriber killed a huge buck that would have won a Truck-Buck week, only to find out his subscription had expired. Renew now!
Truck-Buck is back for the 36th straight year—a testament to the GON community and the sponsors who again stepped up to provide Georgia deer hunters with the best, most unique and rewarding deer contest anywhere.
Please don’t take this amazing contest for granted. Take a few minutes to thank the Truck-Buck sponsors. And when you do business, please do so with the folks who support us and Georgia hunting. Without these sponsors, there wouldn’t be a Truck-Buck contest.
It all starts with John Megel Chevy, who will award the 36th grand prize truck to the winner of this deer season’s Truck-Buck Shoot-Out. The second-best shot will earn a Fiminator G-3 from Ranew’s Outdoor Equipment.
In addition to qualifying for that grand-prize Shoot-Out, the best-scoring buck each week of deer season earns a super weekly prize package. Obsession Bows, a Georgia-based company founded by Dennis Lewis, is our new Truck-Buck bow sponsor. We are super excited about Obsession joining the GON team!
Weekly winners during gun season again earn a Savage rifle, and the Youth/Primitive Weapons winner gets a CVA Optima V2 muzzleloader. Weekly winners also earn an HSS safety harness, a prize package of products from 4S Advanced Wildlife Solutions, plus Doe Estrus Heat and Bowhunter’s Fatal Obsession from new sponsor Scrape Juice.
Four wildcard winners earn Shoot-Out spots and get a $250 gift card from Agri Supply, 4S and Scrape Juice products, a high-performance ultralight cooler from Rugged Road Outdoors and an HSS safety harness. The wildcards are for the highest-scoring buck by a youth, lady or public-land hunter that doesn’t win a week. There’s a Runner-Up Wildcard for the highest-scoring buck that doesn’t win a week.
Entering the Truck-Buck contest is simple. First, be a GON subscriber, which means you have paid for an annual or two-year subscription to the magazine (the monthly $2.99 subscription does not make you eligible for Truck-Buck). When you kill a buck, take digital photos before you cape the buck. Then go to www.GON.com and fill out the online entry form and upload your pictures. There is also an entry form in the August issue that can be mailed. Click here for the complete official rules for the contest.
You can’t kill a buck, then subscribe and try to enter. Also, if you are 23 and living with your parents, you need to buy your own subscription. Only dependent kids (claimed as dependent on parents’ taxes) can enter on a subscription. Grandparents, please buy a gift subscription for the grandkids!
The Youth Big-Buck Contest
The kids even have their own contest with weekly winners, prizes and their own Shoot-Out that is held at the Outdoor Blast. See the promotion below. The entry process is the same—simply enter Truck-Buck. All youth hunters 15 years old and younger are automatically entered in both Truck-Buck and the Youth Big-Buck Contest.
The winner of the Youth Contest Shoot-Out gets a $3,000 shopping spree at Adventure Outdoors, plus a weekend hunt with Woods-N-Water. Second place earns a CVA rifle.
The highest-scoring buck entered by a youth 15 and younger during each of the 17 weeks of Georgia’s deer season earns that youngster a spot in the Shoot-Out, plus weekly prizes. New Youth Contest sponsors this year are Stealth Cam with a Flashback Cellular Trail Cam for the 17 weekly winners, and Scrape Juice with their awesome deer scents. Rugged Road Outdoors is providing each weekly winner with a high-performance ultralight 45 V2 cooler.
