GON’s Outdoor Blast Is July 28-30
Gun-An-Hour Giveaway back At The Blast!
GON Staff | June 17, 2017
Sportsmen from across Georgia will once again converge in Gwinnett County at the Infinite Energy Center for the Outdoor Blast, GON’s annual kick-off to hunting season. The Outdoor Blast will be July 28-30, 2017.
The Outdoor Blast will again feature hundreds of hunting and fishing vendors offering products and services, and expect to find some great deals as we bring back Blast Bargains for 2017.
Highlights of this year’s Outdoor Blast include a return of the Gun-An-Hour-Giveaway. Every hour a name will be drawn from Blast attendees, and the winner will pick up their new gun right there and take it home. This is not a raffle, it’s free. There will be 21 guns given away during the weekend—GON’s 21-gun salute to sportsmen.
The new World Record Whitetail, the 47-point Tucker Buck from Tennessee, will be at the Outdoor Blast. With a net score of 312 3/8 inches, this is the No. 1 whitetail buck ever taken by a hunter. The buck will be on display at the J&S Scents booth, which will be located in the center atrium between the two main vendor halls and near the entrance to the outdoor Jim & Nicks Bar-B-Q area and beverage garden.
Also, the Wall of Fame, a display of the state’s best bucks from last season, will be at the Outdoor Blast. After a great season for top-end Georgia bucks, we’re expecting some amazing mounts to be displayed.
Returning to the Blast this year will be Steve Scruggs with his awesome “Snakes Alive” show. Huge venomous snakes on the floor up close will make your jaw drop.
The Truck-Buck Shoot-Out will take place Saturday and Sunday, and Friday will see the GON’s Youth Big-Buck Contest as kids shoot for a $3,000 shopping spree and dream hunt.
A Seminar Room will allow Outdoor Blast attendees a place to rest their feet while waiting on that next gun drawing. In addition to the Snakes Alive shows, there will be seminars by U.S. Law Shield on gun laws and rights of gun owners, and shows by Georgia Mountain Falconry. Other seminar presenters are expected to be added.
As this issue of GON went to press, there were less than two dozen vendor booths available for the 2017 Outdoor Blast. To inquire about whether your company or service might be a fit for the Blast, call Mindy Burns at (800) 438-4663 or e-mail [email protected].
