Lake Jackson Fishing Report – September 2010

GON Staff | August 25, 2010

Jackson: Level: 1.3 feet low. Temp: 88-92 degrees. Clarity: Light stain to clear over most of the lake.

Bass:
Poor. “The bite is still tough right now,” said Aaron Batson. “Most tournaments are taking 6 to 10 pounds to win. September will be much better with lower water temps. Look for the spots to turn on down the lake on early morning topwater stuff. Zara Spooks and Sammys on deep seawalls will get strong. Don’t be afraid to work the bait in 20 to 25 feet of water off the points. If you find a few fish, slow down and work a 1/4-oz. Net Boy Baits ScrewBall head with a Zoom Finesse worm in the area for more bites. The river bite for largemouths will also get better. Fish blowdowns and stumps with a Bandit 100 crankbait or 1/4-oz. Ol Nelle spinnerbait for a reaction bite.”
