Benefit Bass Tournament To Help Family Of Hunting Accident Victim

Brad Gill | February 8, 2024

Jason Cody is currently in Macon recovering from injuries related to falling from a deer stand in November.

The crew from Berry’s Tournament Trails will be hosting a benefit bass tournament on Saturday, Feb. 17 for the family of Jason Cody. Jason fell from a deer stand in November.

His daughter Emma set up a Go Fund Me page and writes, “My dad was in a hunting accident on Nov. 21. His deer stand broke, and he fell 25 feet out of a tree. We found him hours later non-responsive in the woods. He was wet and cold from the rain that day. He is now in a Macon hospital with a lot of broken bones, and he has a long road to recovery. My dad was the solo provider for our family. We are trying to get help with bills, food, gas and other necessities.”

Jason is an avid outdoorsman and regular angler with Berry’s Tournament Trails.

“Jason has fished with us for 20 plus years in our Tuesday and Friday night tournaments. He has participated in other charity tournaments that we have put on,” said Tony Berry.
