Lake Jackson Fishing Report February 2015

GON Staff | January 29, 2015

Jackson: Level: 1.2 feet low. Temp: 43-47 degrees. Clarity: Mostly stained, especially up the lake.

Bass:
Fair. Tournament fisherman Aaron Batson reports, “Look for a consistent bite from big spotted bass down the lake in clearer, more stable water right now. Upper lake areas keep getting blown out with heavy rains. Bass can be caught on Lucky Craft jerkbaits and slow-rolled Fish Head Spins out over 8 to 15 feet of water. Bass are running in schools. When you find them, you can load the boat in one location. Keep moving around, and look for bait or bites, and then stick with the area. Later this month, bass will move under deeper floating dock and stage there for spring. They can be caught on 1/4-oz. Net Boy Bait flipping jigs and light-weight Texas-rigged Trixster Baits and Senko-type worms.”
