Short-Tailed Cat: These two bobcats — there’s a bigger “momma cat” to the left in the shadows — were caught on a trail camera in western Washington County on Oct. 30 last year. CV Brookins Jr., of Sandersville, sent the photo.

Final Day Survivor? Jennifer Smith, of Austell, sent this photo taken Jan. 1, 2011 about an hour before daylight on the final day of deer season in Douglas County.

Deer and Coyotes — An Uneasy Truce? Hunter Beall is from Dublin and currently lives at Lake Oconee. “I have had my trail cam out the past few months trying to keep up with my turkey population on a small tract of land down in Hancock County,” Hunter said. “When checking it this past weekend (Mar. 7), I found this lone coyote meandering through my corn pile right between a small group of deer in four pictures.”
