Southeast Georgia Monarch: “When I first saw this picture, I said he posed like he wanted to be in GON!” said David Troutman, of Axson. He said he got the picture in Atkinson County on Nov. 27, 2017. “Hope it can find its way into an issue, as we just don’t see many like that down here,” said David.

Next Level Coyote Problems: Fawn-killing, turkey-eating coyotes are bad enough in Georgia… now they’re stealing our stuff and flaunting their dastardly deeds! GON member Kevin Cantrell, of Clermont, submitted this from Hall County. “My son got this picture after he had taken a friend hunting and his friend dropped his shooting stick out of his pack on their way out. The coyote found it and just happened to tote it by his camera a month or so later. We thought only trespassers were thieves,” Kevin said.

That Time Of Year: This trail-camera picture from last Aug. 6 reminds us the annual renewal is about to begin. May and June are peak months for fawns being born across most of Georgia. GON member Brandon Daugherty, of Rocky Face, got this picture in Whitfield County.

ID The Feline: We heard mostly house cat from those we asked, but some say it’s a bobcat with a world-record tail. GON member Larry White, of Dallas, got this picture April 19 last year at 3:37 p.m. in Paulding County.
