To The Feeder! A flood didn’t stop this hungry coon from checking the deer feeder. Daryl Mund got this picture in Colquitt County on Jan. 3.
Surprise Attack! There’s so much action going on in this trail-cam picture that it’s hard to tell exactly what’s happening. We studied this close and think it’s a hawk catching a squirrel in the lower left, as two startled does make a hasty retreat. GON member Ricky Gilliard got this great picture in Bacon County at 9:22 a.m. on Dec. 13.
Did This Military Buck Make It Again? Earl Wine got this trail-camera picture in November 2019 on Fort Benning property. “He’s proud as a peacock, and as far as I know, he’s still out there.” Earl wrote when he submitted this picture on Oct. 11 just before the 2020 firearms season opened. “I guess you know where I’ll be on opening day of gun season,” he said.
Talbot County Twinkle Toes: GON member Robert Matthew, of Woodland, submitted this picture taken on Sept. 5. “We had seen hog signs and heard something banging on metal one morning. After checking our camera setup on our gravity feeder across our lake, we found he knocked the metal stove pipe material off the post and tried to get into the feeder for some corn.”
