Showing Out With The Smoke Phase: This beautiful and rare wild turkey appears to have what biologists call “smoke-phase” coloration, where a mostly white turkey still retains quite a bit of black pigment in its feathers, and the appearance takes on more of a gray or smoky look. Kevin Frederick, a GON subscriber from Cleveland, got this trail-camera picture in December on a White County tract.
