Reader Contributed | September 3, 2016

While enjoying time in the stand in Terrell County with his grandfather on Dec. 11, Tanner Gaskins, 12, of Gray, was able to harvest his first deer.

Charlotte Davis, 8, of Decatur, caught this hybrid bass on Lake Blackshear.

Four-year-old Wesley C. Thompson didn’t mind knocking “Catch 10-lb. Bass” off the bucket list early in life. The lunker was caught in Jones County.

Chris Swims, of Calhoun, is only 8 years old, but he’s the current blue catfish record holder for the Conasauga River. The 11-pounder was caught on June 15.

Lily Cauley, of Lyons, has been hunting since she was 2, but when she turned 7, she connected the dots. What a great first deer, taken in Toombs County Oct. 19.

Blake Callaway, of Jersey, had a successful evening on doe patrol in Hancock County last December.
