Elsie Lee Harrison, 5, was fishing with her dad for white perch in a Jeff Davis County pond when she caught this 9-lb., 8-oz. bass. Dad had to help her land it, but it’s her fish!

Ashton Gilliard, 10, got his first buck on Nov. 25 in Talbot County. Nice buck, Ashton!

Ansley Shiflett, 3, of Cumming, with her very first fish! She caught the bream on March 22 at Lake Lanier.

Griffin Watts, 6, of Clarkesville, killed his first turkey in Habersham County on March 30. His dad called the bird to within 20 yards, and Griffin sealed the deal.

Jaxson Coody, 5, of Oglethorpe, with a Macon County crappie on April 6.

Aiden Taylor, 10, of Calhoun, killed his first deer, a 6-point buck, on Nov. 22 in Gordon County while hunting with his paw paw.

Emma Sassman, 12, killed her first buck on Nov. 11 in Pickens County. Her dad Tony said, “Once we tracked her kill with help from the landowner’s dog, we found out that it was a doe with velvet spike antlers. We’d never seen this in person, and boy was that girl excited. She shot it at around 7:15 a.m. in a light rain.”

Jake Floyd, 13, killed his first deer in Bleckley County.

Kinzley Baker, 13, of Nevils, with her first deer, an 8-point out of Bulloch County on Oct. 22.

Paul Spence, 14, of Flowery Branch, with first deer, an 8-pointer in Hall County on Nov. 11.

Greyson Keene, 13, of Macon County, killed this big sow and her piglet.

Lucas Boothe, 8, of Winder, with a 30-lb. striper caught at Lake Hartwell. Lucas was fishing with his grandfather, Mike Hawkins.

Bentley McLendon, 13, of Hazlehurst, took his first turkey on opening day.

Dean Evans, 13, of Coal Mountain, closed the deal on his first turkey while running and gunning in the cold wind on April 5 with his dad, Adam. The Treutlen County tom had an 11-inch beard with 1 1/4-inch spurs and was taken with a 410.

Landon Lewis, 9, got a nice longbeard opening morning of youth season while hunting in Cherokee County.

Presley Armstrong, 13, of Valdosta, with a Lowndes County bird she rolled during the state’s Youth Weekend.
