GON Mathews Bow Winner Shares Some Deer Fruit
Dear GON,
I just wanted to thank you again for starting GON and doing so much for Georgia hunters! This year I got to go on an out-of-state hunt for the first time to South Dakota. I was able to have my bow set up before going.
I want you to know if it wasn’t for that bow I wouldn’t have been able to shoot that buck. He’s a 140-inch 7-pointer, and I shot him at 65 yards.
My old bow definitely couldn’t have made that shot! And I definitely couldn’t have ever afforded a nice bow like that! I really can’t thank you enough. I just wanted to show how much you do in the lives of all the hunters. Thank you so, so much again.

Young Trout Angler Appreciates Wildcat Creek Re-opening
Dear GON,
I recently wrote to GON about the closure of Wildcat Creek because the National Forest Service didn’t fix the road after it washed away. I am pleased to say that it was fixed this week, and I got to fish it today. I caught my personal best trout at 13.5 inches (I don’t lake fish for trout, so I don’t catch big ones).
If anyone read my letter and did something, thank you.
