The 2nd Annual Grant Taylor Memorial Fishing Rodeo in Walker County will raise money for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare skin disorder that causes skin to become extremely fragile. EB took 8-year-old Grant Taylor’s life on May 14, 2007....
Aaron Batson is hiding nothing; at Clarks Hill he used a secret technique his grandfather showed him. It put 15 keepers in the boat for him, giving him an 11.48-lb. limit. He’s hoping for a shallow bite at the November championship.
Growing into its second year, the GON Outdoor Blast held Aug. 8-10 at the Macon Centreplex was even bigger and better than last year. This year’s Blast welcomed visitors to a show floor packed wall-to-wall with nothing but hunting and fishing.
From guide services, call makers and taxidermy displays to hunting-gear vendors, archery shoots and duck-calling contests, there was something at the show for every sportsman and woman....
Several young hunters are about to get the chance to hunt private Georgia farms that are intensively managed to grow quail, and they get to bring mom, dad or another adult to walk alongside and watch the action.
A total of 14 youth/adult pairs will be drawn though a quota process for quail hunts on seven Georgia properties. The hunts are a product of the Bobwhite Quail Initiative (BQI), a program that provides private landowners with technical assistance and financial incentives for habitat improvement. The BQI program is conducted in 15 counties in central Georgia and is funded through sales of DNR specialty license plates. WRD biologists provide BQI cooperators with detailed technical assistance on quail management.
The deadline for applications is Oct. 15. Take a look at the following hunts, then follow the instructions for sending an application letter.

Your countless days at the sauna, or Lake Seminole, which lies along the Georgia-Florida border, have treated you right in terms of tanning, but September is a tough month for bass fishing....
This season I entered some of the BASS Elite Series bass tournaments as a co-angler, the first tournament being the Citrus Slam on the Toho/Kissimmee Chain. I fished a BASS Open there last year on the pro side and was excited about going back.
