GON Staff | January 18, 2024

Youth, scholastic and collegiate competitive shooting teams can apply for 2024 grants from the Double D Foundation through Feb. 15.

The Double D Foundation has opened the 2024 Grants Application Window for shooting sports teams and organizations based in Georgia. In 2023, the foundation donated more than $700,000 to Georgia teams and organizations. The Double D Foundation was formed by Cindy Daniel, who alongside her husband and business partner, Marty Daniel, own Daniel Defense, an industry leader making firearms and products right here in Georgia.

Shooting sports teams and organizations can submit a grant application for ammo, protective gear and targets by simply clicking HERE or by visiting the website at www.TheDoubleDFoundation.org/Grants. Follow the prompts to login, fill out the application form, and submit for review. The submission deadline is Feb. 16, 2024 at 5 p.m. Award notifications will go out at the end of February, and 2024 grants will be issued in March.

“We truly appreciate your support of The Double D Foundation. Together, we will advance freedom through shooting sports!” said Cindy Daniel. “The mission of The Double D Foundation is to protect the Second Amendment by growing the number of Americans involved in shooting sports, who understand the fundamentals of firearm safety, and who share the core belief that the Second Amendment Defends the Rest.”

Last year the Double D Foundation announced 114 grants recipients for 2023—40 more than 2022—totaling $710,600 dollars in support to benefit nearly 3,500 youth competitors in Georgia. In its first two years, the foundation has donated $1.3 million dollars worth of safety gear, targets and ammunition to organizations across the state.

“These young men and women are incredible ambassadors for competitive shooting sports and represent the next generation of advocates for the 2nd Amendment. Congratulations to our grant recipients and thank you to all Foundation supporters for funding our grant program,” said Cindy Daniel during the announcement of the 2023 grant recipients.

Grant recipients are youth, scholastic and collegiate competitive shooting teams that participate in propellant ammunition-based rifle, shotgun or pistol sports. The 2023 Georgia grants included 21,000 pairs of ear protection, 2,544 pairs of eye protection, 4,191 flats of 12 gauge ammunition (1,047,750 rounds), 1,059 flats of 20 gauge ammunition (264,750 rounds), 5,452 cases of clay targets (736,020 clay targets), and 48 cases of .22LR rimfire ammunition (67,200 rounds).
