2023 Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast Events

It's a celebration of the outdoor lifestyle.

GON Staff | July 21, 2023

The Ag-Pro Outdoor Blast is a sportsman’s show that brings together outdoor enthusiasts, industry experts and vendors under one roof. This event offers a unique opportunity to experience the latest gear, witness demonstrations and learn from seasoned professionals. But most of all it’s a weekend to gather with friends who enjoy the same hunting, fishing and outdoor passions. It’s a weekend to celebrate the outdoors!

As you would expect there will be hundreds of vendors from across the country offering the latest gear at bargain prices at the Outdoor Blast, but you’ll also find an entire slate of events happening all weekend.

Gun-An-Hour Giveaway

Few things in life are better than winning a free gun! That’s why we have the Gun-An-Hour Giveaway. Every hour on the hour throughout the weekend, we draw an attendee’s name at random. It’s simple—hear your name, claim your gun. The Blast is open for 21 hours and we are bringing 21 guns. All you need to do is go to the Gun-An-Hour booth, fill out an entry form, show your paid entry bracelet and drop your entry into the hopper. You stay eligible all day with that one entry. We start fresh each day. Of course, you’ll need to be of legal age and will have to go through the standard federal background check.

Snake Shows With Jason Clark Of Southeastern Reptile Rescue

Jason Clark with Southeastern Reptile Rescue will be offering show-goers the chance to see and learn about snakes during the Outdoor Blast with snake shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Jason is back for the third straight year at the Ag-Pro Outdoor Blast, and he will spend time answering questions and providing great educational information about snakes and other reptiles that we might encounter in Georgia. During Jason’s live shows, he ties education into entertainment. You’ll get to see live snakes up close and personal as Jason gives you tips on how to identify snake species and how to tell the difference between venomous and non-venomous snakes. If you prefer to see reptiles behind glass then you can walk through The Southeastern Reptile Rescue education trailer for an up-close look.

Fishing Demonstrations In A 4,000 Gallon Bass Tub

Georgia offers a wide range of fishing opportunities due to its diverse landscapes and numerous bodies of water. Whether it’s the Altamaha River, Lake Allatoona, Lanier or Seminole, Georgians don’t have to travel far to wet a hook. The Outdoor Blast fishing seminars are a great way to pick up some tips and learn some new tactics for your next day on the water. Learn from some of the best guides and anglers in the state with demonstrations in the 4,000-gallon freshwater tank all weekend long.

GON Truck-Buck Shoot-Out Finals

The Truck-Buck Shoot-Out Finals takes place on Sunday, July 30, in the John Megel Shoot-Out Arena. Twenty-one GON subscribers will take the stage in a pellet rifle shooting competition where one lucky hunter will win a new Silverado from John Megel Chevrolet. This nerve-racking competition is considered the kick-off of the coming deer season and a must-see event for all ages.

30-30 Ministries $1k Shoot-Out

Anyone can step up on the Shoot-Out arena stage on Saturday, July 29 for a chance at $1,000 in the 30-30 Ministries $1K Ultimate Shoot-Out! Qualifying is from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (first-come, first-serve as time allows.) Anyone who hits the egg from 45 feet qualifies for the finals at 4 p.m. to shoot at the egg from 60 feet to determine our $1,000 winner. Qualifying is $5 per shot or $10 for three shots.

Yonah Invitational Turkey Calling Competition

Dave Opens (center) won the Open Division at the Yonah Invitational Grand National Qualifier at the GON Outdoor Blast in Emerson.

The Yonah Invitational is a “Grand National Qualifying Event,” which means it’s sanctioned by the National Wild Turkey Federation. Qualifying events give callers the opportunity to earn a golden ticket to the Grand National Calling Championships. Hosted in Nashville at the annual NWTF Convention and Sport Show, this turkey-calling contest is known widely as the Super Bowl of all turkey-calling competitions.

Official Deer Scoring

Bring your mount or antlers, and our team of official Boone & Crockett scorers will tally up the inches, and your buck’s final score will automatically be listed in GON’s Georgia Deer Records. Look for the Deer Wall against the back of the building. Drop your rack off anytime during show hours Friday or Saturday, but please show up no later than 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 30. Don’t wait until the show is about to close on Friday and Saturday. Antlers dropped off near the closing hours of the show might not be available for pick up until the next day.

GON Wall Of Fame & Georgia’s Greatest Whitetails

The GON Wall of Fame and Duncan Dobie’s Georgia’s Greatest Whitetails exhibits bring some of the biggest bucks of the 2022 deer season and some of Georgia’s most famous record bucks from the past. This is the place where kids of all ages stare in awe while their imaginations take them to what they hope to see in the coming deer season.

You will find it all at the Outdoor Blast July 28-30 in Emerson. Shop the best gear, learn from the pros, gather with friends and get excited for the coming season. Come see why the GON Ag-Pro Outdoor Blast has become the largest sportsman’s show in Georgia.
