Snake Shows At 2023 Ag-Pro Outdoor Blast

If snakes make you squeamish, you can sit in the bleachers and still enjoy seeing and learning about a variety of live snakes, including a huge diamondback rattlesnake and other venomous species. Or, if you’d like an up-close experience that might even include holding a non-venomous snake, the Ag-Pro Outdoor Blast features a must-attend event. Jason Clark with Southeastern Reptile Rescue will be offering show-goers the chance to see and learn about snakes during the July 28-30 Outdoor Blast, GON’s hunting and fishing sportsmen’s show in Emerson.

Jason is back for the third straight year at the Ag-Pro Outdoor Blast, and he will spend time answering questions and providing great educational information about snakes and other reptiles that we might encounter in Georgia. During Jason’s live shows, he ties education into entertainment. You’ll get to see live snakes up close and personal as Jason gives you tips on how to identify snake species and how to tell the difference between venomous and non-venomous snakes.

The snake shows take place in the Shoot-Out Arena on Friday at 4 p.m., on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m, and on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Southeastern Reptile Rescue trailer will again be located inside the air-conditioned and comfortable Lakepoint Sports Complex. You can stroll through the enclosed trailer to see live snakes and other reptiles behind enclosed habitats.

The 2023 Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast is presented by Georgia Drives Chevy and sponsored by Kenzie Optics. Back for the second year is the 30-30 Ministries $1K Shoot-Out. Beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, anyone at the Blast can step into the Truck-Buck Shoot Arena and qualify for the chance to win $1,000. Qualifying is $5 for one shot or $10 for three shots at an egg from the 45-foot stage. Qualifiers will shoot at the egg from 60 feet until we have a $1,000 winner.

Also back this year is the Bass Tub and Fishing Seminars that will take place all three days of the Blast. Take a break, sit down and watch the bass and other fish while learning from some of Georgia’s top anglers.

The Gun-An-Hour Giveaway is back this year. During the Outdoor Blast we give away a gun every hour to a show attendee—no raffle tickets to buy. Also at the show will be the Chevy Back-Up Trailer Demo, and the 3rd annual Yonah Invitational Turkey Calling Championships, an NWTF Grand National Qualifier.
