BB Blast 4-H Showdown Comes To Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast
Brad Gill | July 16, 2019
On Saturday morning, July 27, the state’s top 4-H youth BB teams will compete for cash prizes and bragging rights in the inaugural BB Blast 4-H Showdown.
For the last year, GON has been working closely with Craven Hudson of 4-H Project SAFE to make this shoot a reality. If there’s one thing those who follow GON closely can say, it’s that for the last three decades we have supported youth hunting and youth shooting sports every chance we get.
Our goal with the BB Blast 4-H Showdown was simply to provide these young BB shooters an opportunity to compete during the summer months when there wasn’t a whole lot going on for these shooters.
To sweeten the pot, GON wanted to step up and award cash prizes to the top teams to help pay for some of those costly travel expenses. The top 4-H BB team at the BB Blast 4-H Showdown will win $500; the second place will receive $250.
Members of the top three teams will all earn award rifles, Daisy’s Model 1938 Red Ryders that are fully functional. That’s 21 shooters who will leave the first-ever BB Blast 4-H Showdown with a new Daisy gun. It’s sponsors like Daisy that’s going to help this thing grow!
At the Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast, Daisy is also bringing their BB Gun Range. It will be located in GON’s Kid Zone.
Come watch the fun in the Truck-Buck arena located in the Ballroom. The first BB will fly at 10 a.m.
To compete in the BB Blast 4-H Showdown, there are still a few team slots available. These spots are free, but the number of teams will be limited. To sign-up, contact Craven Hudson at 706.542.5667
If you’d like to learn more about bringing 4-H Project SAFE shooting sports to your child’s school, 4-H will have a vendor booth in the Ballroom. They’ll be more than happy to get you headed down that road.
Also, at the show will be the GON Kids Fun Zone, the Gun-an-Hour-Giveaway, Georgia’s Greatest Whitetails, Seminar Saturday, the Georgia State Duck Calling Contest, demonstrations with Snakes Alive and the Georgia Falconry Association. As always, GON’s Youth Big-Buck Contest and the Truck-Buck Shoot-Outs will be held.
