Monster Hybrid Bass Sets West Point Lake Record

GON Staff | April 3, 2009

Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky? It certainly wasn’t for Dustin Pate, of Carrollton, who was busy setting a new West Point Lake record for hybrid bass on Friday, March 13, 2009.

Fishing the spring run up the Chattahoochee with guide Todd Pursley, Dustin hooked into the 14-lb., 12.75-oz. monster while fishing cut bait on the bottom at a bend in the river.

Dustin’s fish eclipsed the old West Point record of 13 pounds.
